WEST PERTH, Australia — DUG Technology and Wintershall Dea are teaming up to develop a "virtual" seismic processing center, employing DUG’s seismic data processing and imaging expertise.

Under the development, each of Wintershall Dea’s de-centralized global business divisions will work with DUG to integrate expert knowledge from processors and interpreters to improve the value of their seismic data.

Combining processing and interpretation insight through the duration of a project, DUG said, can foster a better understanding of subsurface geology and more informed decision-making.

Collaboration between the disciplines is also said to optimize processing and interpretation of datasets.

DUG’s geoscience specialists will provide remote support, from advice and consultancy services to tailored reprocessing projects using DUG Insight, which is the company’s processing and imaging service that includes multi-parameter FWI imaging technology.

For Wintershall Dea, the virtual model will offer direct access to advice, testing of methodology and full reprocessing projects.
