FORNEBU, Norway — Aker Solutions has signed an EPCI contract for the Draugen electrification project in the Norwegian Sea with OKEA.
The project will involve modifications to the Draugen platform to accommodate power from shore, which should reduce the Draugen area emissions by 200,000 t per year of CO2.
According to Aker Solutions, the program could support a 20-year lifetime extension at Draugen.
The company is managing the project from its offices in Trondheim and will involve various other offices in the engineering phase, with construction performed at its yard in Egersund.
It expects to complete the development in 2026.
