Shell orders vessel trio to support Prelude FLNG

Shell Australia has contracted KT Maritime Services Australia to design, build, and operate three infield support vessels for the Prelude FLNG project, 475 km (295 mi) north-northeast of Broome, Western Australia.

PERTH, Australia – Shell Australia has contracted KT Maritime Services Australia to design, build, and operate three infield support vessels for the Prelude FLNG project, 475 km (295 mi) north-northeast of Broome, Western Australia.

KT, a joint venture between KOTUG and Teekay, will provide three 42-m (138-ft) long, 100-metric ton (110-ton) bollard-pull Rotortugs to assist product offloading during the project’s operations phase. They will operate out of the Port of Broome on a rotation.
