HOUSTON -- Rigdon Marine Corp. has christened and delivered the Slam Dunk platform supply vessel. This is the fifth of 10 Rigdon 4000 Class vessels. It was deployed immediately in support of shelf operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
TheSlam Dunk is a 190-foot (58-m) x 46-foot (15-m) x 18-foot (5-m) diesel electric, DP-2 PSV, which features a capacity of 4,000 bbls of liquid mud in an oval, self cleaning, segregated tank system. The PSV will also include three Z-drives and two large forward tunnel thrusters.
The remaining five Rigdon 4000 class PSVs will be delivered in 40 day intervals through Q3 2008.
