Majority of Noble rigs under contract

Noble Corp. has issued an update on its floating rig fleet, which currently comprises nine drillships and eight semisubmersibles.

LONDONNoble Corp. has issued an update on its floating rig fleet, which currently comprises nine drillships and eight semisubmersibles.

During 2Q 2015, all thedrillships were in service. As for the semisubs, the Noble Homer Ferrington was stacked, the Noble Max Smith was idle, and the Noble Paul Romano was in a shipyard in preparation for a one-year contract due to start in September at a day rate of $300,000.

Additionally, the company secured a 60-day contract for the semisubNoble Danny Adkins, which remains contracted in the US Gulf of Mexico through late-August 2015.

The activation in April of the newbuild Noble Tom Prosser meant the company had 13 of its 15 jackups in service. The rig’s initial 18-month contract, on a day rate of $203,000, is due to start later this summer.

Noble Mick O’Brien has been idle but does have a 400-day contract lined up at day rate of $150,000, which is expected to start in 2Q 2016.

Enhancements to the newbuildNoble Sam Hartley are expected to be completed in late 3Q.

Recently, Noble secured a one-well contract for theNoble Regina Allen at a day rate of $155,000 for additional work in the North Sea, with the contract set to continue into early September.
