HAMILTON, BermudaSeadrill has won contracts for two of its drillships with a combined value of about $97.5 million.

Talos Production has reserved the West Vela for a 150-day program in the US Gulf of Mexico that is due to start this summer. The estimated value is $73.5 million, excluding managed pressure drilling services.

In addition, the operator of the West Capella has exercised a one-well option with the third-party manager, extending the vessel’s operations by about two months, in direct continuation of its current program (value about $24 million).

Finally, the present manager of the West Auriga has advised Seadrill that the rig will be released in February due to changes in the client's drilling sequence. Seadrill will then resume management of the rig, advancing preparations for a contract offshore Brazil that starts in second-half 2024.
