Drillship gets 12-well extension to offshore Angola assignment

Sonadrill Holding, a joint venture between Seadrill and an affiliate of Sonangol E&P, has secured a 12-well extension offshore Angola for the Libongos drillship at a day rate of $402,500.

HAMILTON, Bermuda—Sonadrill Holding, a joint venture between Seadrill and an affiliate of Sonangol E&P, has secured a 12-well extension offshore Angola for the Libongos drillship at a day rate of $402,500.
Value of the firm (25-month) portion of the contract is about $327 million. The program should start later this year in direct continuation of the rig’s existing contract.
Sonadrill has three drillships on bareboat charters, the West Gemini and the Sonangol-owned Quenguela and Libongos. Seadrill manages and operates both on behalf of Sonadrill.
