ULSTEINVIK, Norway— Oceanica has contracted Green Yard Kleven in Norway to convert two Marin Teknikk-design MT6009 platform supply vessels (PSVs) for operations with ROVs and offshore cranes.
Post-conversion, both will operate in deepwater offshore Brazil. Oceanica is a local company specializing in inspection, intervention and monitoring of underwater structures offshore.
The company acquired both vessels recently, with one already at Green Yard Kleven, and the other due to arrive at the shipyard shortly in the next few days. The two ships have Marin Teknikk design MT6009.
Marin Teknikk will perform design and engineering for the retrofit project. It has collaborated with the shipyard on dozens of ships over the years.
