Trelleborg has launched a comprehensive suite of flow control solutions designed for the subsea oil and gas market.
One of these solutions is Vikotherm II, the next generation of Vikotherm subsea thermal insulation material. Trelleborg says that Vikotherm has been installed throughout the subsea oil and gas market for over 20 years. The company says that Vikotherm II offers improved elasticity, as well as enhanced process and manufacturing flexibility.
Utilizing all the benefits of the first generation solution and taking them a step further, Vikotherm II has a k-value of 0.13 W/mK, can be used down to 9,842 ft (3,000 m) deep and utilized on liquid temperatures up to +311°F/ +155°C, as well as external temperatures as low as -31°F/ -35°C.
Trelleborg's Uraduct is a universal abrasion and impact protection system for fiber-optic cables, power cables, umbilicals, flexible flowlines, rigid flowlines, hoses, and bundled products.
Doug Marti, Market Development Manager at Trelleborg Offshore, commented: "As our industry continues to push the limits of subsea exploration, the sharing of knowledge and collective experiences becomes even more important for improving quality, safety, and economics across the board."
