BELFAST, UK — Harland & Wolff has signed a five-year master services agreement to fabricate large structures for an unnamed oil services company supplying subsea infrastructure globally.

All construction will take place at the group’s Arnish yard on the Isle of Lewis offshore western Scotland, with delivery due to be completed in 2025.

The first order, valued at about £3 million ($3.82 million), covers fabrication of six subsea structures for use with oil and gas platforms and surrounding facilities, each designed to withstand pressures of up to 430 bar (6,235 psi).

Arnish Point is a 38-ha site extending over a 21,000-sq-m area with purpose built fabrication and assembly halls including project and administration office facilities.

Its deepwater quay is said to offer unrestricted access to the Atlantic Ocean and the North Channel.

Harland & Wolff Group Holdings CEO John Wood said, “This contract…builds on the highly technical work the yard has already undertaken on suction anchors, piles and the work it is currently performing for the SeaRose FPSO. These specialized subsea structures are a new product area for us, and we expect that successful delivery of this contract will open up significant opportunities for additional contracts in subsea infrastructure in the future.”
