HOUSTON – OMV Norge has awarded TechnipFMC an iEPCI contract for the Berling gas development in the Norwegian Sea, a subsea tieback to the Åsgard complex.
TechnipFMC will design and install the subsea production systems, controls, pipelines and umbilicals for the development, OMV’s first offshore Norway as operator.
The award followed a six-month integrated FEED (iFEED) study that involved optimizing the field layout and improving the project’s economics by confirming the suitability of thermally insulated pipe-in-pipe technology for the flowline.
Jonathan Landes, president, Subsea at TechnipFMC, said, “Through iFEED, we demonstrated that iEPCI provides a solution, which will accelerate delivery of this development.”
TechnipFMC says this contract is valued between $75 million and $250 million.
