ABERDEEN, UKAshtead Technology and Ocean Atlantic Petroleum (OAP) have executed their first joint marine services project offshore West Africa.

The two companies specialize respectively in subsea technology and services and inspection/asset integrity.

Together they performed a class-approved mooring inspection campaign for Total E&P Angola on facilities serving the deepwater Girassol and Dalia fields in Angolan block 17.

Total has since awarded the duo further work for the Pazflor and CLOV fields in the same block.

The underwater inspection program is designed to avoid the need for drydocking of the FPSOs. Ashtead provides visual inspection, chain cleaning, measurement and 3D modeling technologies, and OAP a team of offshore technical personnel.

OAP’s operations base in Luanda will be used to store and maintain the equipment.
