OSLO, Norway – Equinor has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to start using the gas export system for the Johan Sverdrup field development in the North Sea.
Gas will be exported via the subsea Statpipe system to Kårstø in western Norway.
Johan Sverdrup is on the Utsira High, 140 km (87 mi).
The first-phase development, due to come onstream late this year, comprises a bridge-linked, four-platform field center in 120 m (393 ft) of water.
