HAMILTON, Bermuda — Northern Ocean has secured a one-well contract offshore Namibia for the Deepsea Bollsta semisub for an unnamed major operator.
Following a five-year class survey, the rig (managed by Odfjell Drilling) should start the 63-day program during the fall.
Deepsea Bollsta has been operating in the deepwater Orange Basin offshore Namibia for the past 18 months.
This latest award for Deepsea Bollsta and the current drilling contract for the Deepsea Mira have increased Northern Ocean’s revenue backlog to $80 million to $95 million.
Discussions continue with potential clients concerning further fixtures for both rigs.
