Three operators extend deals for Transocean rigs

Transocean has secured contract extensions for three of its harsh environment semisubmersible drilling rigs, with a combined value of $161 million.

STEINHAUSEN, SwitzerlandTransocean has secured contract extensions for three of its harsh environment semisubmersible drilling rigs, with a combined value of $161 million.

Offshore Norway, Equinor has added three more wells to Transocean Spitsbergen’s line-up, with work due to begin in fourth-quarter 2025 in direct continuation of the rig’s current program. Equinor also has options for up to six further wells.

Wintershall Dea has decided to retain Transocean Norge for three more wells, under a 140-day campaign set to start in first-quarter 2028.

And offshore Australia, Woodside has exercised its second option for Transocean Endurance, which will drill a 45-day well once its current program finishes.
