Three Dolphin rigs on long-term hires

Dolphin Drilling provides first-quarter updates on its various offshore rigs.

OSLO, NorwayDolphin Drilling expects the Blackford Dolphin semisub to start a 14-month drilling program this summer for Oil India.

The contractual terms include the potential for an additional seven-month period.

Another of the company’s semisubs, Borgland Dolphin, is sailing to Las Palmas in the Canary Island for a class renewal prior where it will remain until early 2025. It should then transit to the UK to start a contract for EnQuest. The rig is currently fully committed until August 2025, with multi-year contract options.

Paul B. Loyd, Jr. continues to work on a long-term drilling contract with Harbour Energy in the UK that runs until first-quarter 2028. The rig and its operating crews have transitioned from previous owner Transocean to Dolphin Drilling.

Dolphin has decided to recycle the Dolphin Leader.

In addition, the company sold its Bideford Dolphin rig, with proceeds of $4.1 million, during the first quarter.
