Seadrill sells tender-assist rigs, extends multiple contracts

Seadrill has completed the sale of its three tender-assist offshore rigs to affiliates of Energy Drilling for about $85 million, the company revealed in its latest quarterly results statement.

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Seadrill has completed the sale of its three tender-assist offshore rigs to affiliates of Energy Drilling for about $85 million, the company revealed in its latest quarterly results statement.

Its current order backlog is $2.4 billion, recent gains including multi-well contract extensions for the Sonangol Quenguela and West Gemini drillships, operating offshore Angola via the company's 50:50 joint venture with Sonangol.

Sonangol Quenguela is now committed through January 2025 and West Gemini through May 2025.   

In addition, the operator of the West Capella exercised a one-well option, while the West Castor and West Tucana jackups secured contract extensions for continued operations offshore Qatar through Seadrill’s 50:50 joint venture with GDI.
