RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Petrobras has started production from the FPSO Anna Nery, serving the post-salt Marlim/Voador fields revitalization project and the presalt Brava in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

The FPSO is designed to produce up to 70,000 bbl/d of oil and process 4 MMcm/d of gas.

Jean Paul Prates, the new CEO of Petrobras, said, “This is the largest project in the world in the recovery of mature assets in the offshore industry. Through it, we will increase production, maintain jobs, and open an important learning and knowledge front for other similar projects throughout Brazil.”

Along with MODEC’s Anita Garibaldi MV33 FPSO, which arrived at the Jurong shipyard in Esprito Santo State earlier this year, it will be stationed over the Marlim Field. The two floaters, designed to replace nine platforms at Marlim and Viador, will produce on average 150,000 boe/d, and the operational experience will be transferred to other field revitalization projects, Petrobras said.

FPSO Anna Nery is moored in 927 m of water and connected to 32 wells, with peak production expected in 2025.

Petrobras’ current production from its fields in the Campos Basin is averaging about 560,000 boe/d, and it is on track to reach 900,000 boe/d in 2027.
