STAVANGER, Norway  Prosafe has issued an update on its fleet of semisubmersible offshore accommodation/support rigs.

In the central UK North Sea, Safe Caledonia will remain on contract to TotalEnergies at the Elgin platform until early December, with a 30-day extension option.

Safe Boreas has come off hire after completion operations to support a platform shutdown elsewhere in the UK sector, and it will be in lay-up pending the award of future work.

In May Petrobras awarded Safe Eurus a four-year contract in continuation of its current program offshore Brazil, with a planned startup in first-quarter 2023. However, the rig will likely be off hire for 30 days in April 2023, during which Petrobras will contract modification work, with hull cleaning also conducted.

Prosafe will seek to advance a Special Periodic Survey that the rig was originally scheduled to undergo in 2024 during the same off-hire window.

Safe Notos, which started a new four-year contract with Petrobras in July, will also likely be off hire next February, also undergoing modifications and hull cleaning.

Prosafe has an option to take delivery of two DP3 newbuild semisubs available at an undisclosed yard. However, in September, the typhoon Muifa caused material damage that will have to be rectified prior to delivery.

In its latest results statement, the company said it would seek to secure further work for its vessels in 2023 and beyond, and it anticipates increased activity, based on active tendering.

Its strategy remains as having some vessels on long-term contracts, mainly off Brazil, with others available for short-term programs, mostly in the North Sea.
