LLOG, Talos extend GoM rig contracts

Seadrill has secured extensions to contracts for two rigs working in the Us Gulf of Mexico.

HAMILTON, Bermuda – Seadrill has secured extensions to contracts for two rigs working in the Us Gulf of Mexico.

LLOG awarded a further four-well program to the West Neptune, due to start in direct continuation of the current contract, with options for two more wells.

The firm period, with an estimated duration of 200 days, should keep the rig engaged through August 2023. Seadrill estimates the value for the firm-term at around $71 million.

Talos Production has retained Sevan Louisiana for a further three wells, again in continuation of the rig’s existing contract. The minimum duration of 105 days, with the extension set to take effect in August.

Estimated value is around $34 million.
