CASTROPOL, Spain – Gondan Shipyard in Figueras, northern Spain, has launched a new commissioning service operation vessel built for Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind.
The Edda Breeze, with a length of 88.3 m (290 ft) and a beam of 19.7 m (64.6 ft), was designed by Salt Ship Design, and is prepared for the installation of zero-emission hydrogen technology for the propulsion systems, thanks to funding from Norwegian government enterprise Enova SF.
Features will include a 3D motion-compensated crane and a motion-compensated gangway with a maximum range of 28 m (92 ft) for personnel transfer, and an integrated elevator with capacity for up to 26 persons.
