ABERDEEN, UK – Stena Drilling has awarded Intebloc a three-year contract to provide Rig-Ware, a data management system said to deliver increased control of vessel lifting equipment.

Rig-Ware will be installed on six Stena rigs in Europe, Africa and South America, allowing on-site personnel to track and monitor integrity and use of loose and fixed lifting equipment.

The aims are to improve offshore safety and reduce the risk of lifting equipment failures, and to provide real-time inventory data analysis leading to quicker decisions on lifting equipment management.

Intebloc’s contract follows trials on the semisubmersible Stena Spey and drillship Stena IceMAX which demonstrated the system’s capabilities.
