STAVANGER, Norway – Prosafe has provided an update on its accommodation rig support fleet, mainly covering project deferrals.

On March 13 the company confirmed a 21-day contract for EnQuest for the Safe Zephyrus to support work on the Thistle platform in the UK central North Sea.

The vessel was ready to mobilize from Averøy in Norway but EnQuest issued instructions on March 20 for it not to sail, due to rapidly unfolding global developments. Prosafe has since claimed the full contract value of around $2 million.

Following this program, the vessel was due to head south for a 110-day contract supporting Shell at the Shearwater complex in the UK central North Sea. However, Shell has since decided not to conduct the planned work in 2020.

The Safe Caledonia was preparing to start a 162-day contract in mid-April for Total at the Elgin complex in the same region UK sector. Total and Prosafe have since agreed to defer this project by a year.

The Safe Notos has been on contract to Petrobras in Brazil since early December 2016, while Safe Eurus has been providing safety and maintenance support to the operator under a three-year contract since last November.

However, on March 21, client personnel on both vessels were demobilized and the vessels were moved closer to shore.

From early April, Petrobras asked Prosafe to agree to a suspension of the contract for a period of up to 120 days during which period Petrobras will provide all logistical services, fuel and catering support.

Commercial and payment terms related to the resumption are subject to current discussions. The Safe Concordia started a 120-day contract for Equinor alongside the Peregrino FPSO in the Campos basin off Brazil in mid-January.

Other vessels in the fleet – Safe Scandinavia, Regalia and Safe Boreas – remain laid up in Norway.
