ScottishPower has awarded Siemens Gamesa with a £1-billion (US$1 billion) contract for a turbine supply agreement for its East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the southern North Sea.
The agreement will see Siemens Gamesa supply 64 of its flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines for East Anglia TWO, ScottishPower’s third offshore wind project in the region.
Situated almost 33 km off the Suffolk coat, East Anglia TWO will be designed to generate up to 960MW of electricity for UK power markets.
East Anglia TWO will be the third wind farm constructed by ScottishPower in its East Anglia Hub, with East Anglia ONE (714 MW) operating since July 2020 and East Anglia THREE (1,400 MW) – the company’s largest wind farm – currently under construction, with offshore foundation works getting underway in early 2025.
Siemens Gamesa has been the wind turbine supplier selected by ScottishPower to install wind turbines in these three projects.
