Starting next July, Correll will complete the 66-kV termination and testing on 72 wind turbine generators.
RWE awarded Jan De Nul the EPCI cable contracts in a consortium with Hellenic Cables. The scope of work covers manufacture and installation of 60 km of export cables on the 30-km-long cable route from the offshore wind farm to the shore, and about 200 km of inter-array cables.
Offshore installation and commissioning of the cable system should take place in 2025.
The Thor development is situated 22 km from the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland. The 1 GW-plus project, slated to be fully commissioned in 2027, will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date.
