GLASGOW, UK — Sulmara has won a contract to perform site characterization at the Stromar floating offshore wind farm location in northern Scotland.
The company will use the multipurpose subsea vessel Vos Gorgeous for the geophysical investigations across the site in water depths of up to 100 m.
Under the program, which is due to start in April, the data acquired will support Stromar’s engineering design work and its environmental assessment of the location, 50 km (31 miles) from the Caithness coastline.
Stromar is a joint venture between Orsted, BlueFloat Energy and Renantis, with the area awarded under the ScotWind offshore wind leasing round.
