MOLDE, NorwayAxess Technologies is performing a concept engineering study with floating offshore wind technology developer Wind Catching Systems (WCS).

The duo will design a handling system capable of replacing turbines and their turbine blades, while also serving as a work platform for inspection, maintenance and repair operations.

The Windcatcher is said to be scalable, suited to mass-produced smaller turbines and at-sea replacement of individual turbines without the need for special ships or cranes.
