BREMEN, German  Skyborn Renewables and its partners have secured an extended financing agreement to complete the construction of Taiwan’s 640-MW Yunlin offshore wind farm development.

The location is in the Taiwan Strait, 8-17 km from Taiwan’s west coast in water depths ranging from 7 m to 35 m. The 80 wind turbines across the 82-km project area will generate electricity for delivery to the Taiwanese power grid via two onshore substations near Taixi and Sihu in Yunlin County. Electricity will be provided to Taipower under two 20-year power purchase agreements.

This year’s installation program is on schedule and preparations continue for next year’s campaign. Other co-venturers in the development are Yunneng Wind Power, TotalEnergies, Electricity Generating Public Co. and Sojitz.
