CORK, Ireland — Irish utility ESB and Ørsted have agreed to jointly develop an Irish offshore wind portfolio.
According to Ørsted, the partnership could potentially deliver up to 5 GW of renewable energy and associated renewable hydrogen projects.
The first planned offshore wind project will likely compete in the next Irish offshore wind auction, ORESS 2.1.
Ireland’s government is targeting 7 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030.
