LONDON —Floventis Energy has awarded Kent the Owner’s Engineer contract for the Llŷr 1 and 2 wind farms in the Celtic Sea offshore west Wales.
Both 100-MW projects will demonstrate the potential of two floating offshore wind platforms, each with an array of six to eight turbines. They are currently progressing through the pre-FEED stage and could start operating by 2027.
In partnership with Vekta Group, Kent will provide support for the hull and moorings, electrical systems, wind turbine generators, site layout, geotechnical and metocean services, and project management.
Floventis Energy is a joint venture between developer Cierco and SBM Offshore.
