UK wind power, P&A specialists gain government funding

The UK government will provide grants to various small and mid-size companies developing decarbonization solutions, under its £19 million ($23 million) Energy Entrepreneurs Fund.

LONDON — The UK government will provide grants to various small and mid-size companies developing decarbonization solutions, under its £19 million ($23 million) Energy Entrepreneurs Fund.
Those selected include:
Inductive Power Projection in Cornwall, southwest England, which will use its £444,080 ($536,939) for a high-frequency wireless charging demonstrator to power autonomous drones to inspect and maintain offshore wind farms;
Jet Engineering System Solutions will receive £255,754 ($309,233) toward developing a 5G floating network enabling high-speed, reliable long-range communications at sea in support of wind farm installations; and
Clearwell Technology in Scotland will get £223,872 ($270,684) for the design of a thermal pipe milling tool for well plugging.
