THE NETHERLANDS  Sif, a Dutch manufacturer of monopiles and transition pieces for offshore wind turbines, will produce 14 jacket piles for the BorWin5 offshore grid connection project on behalf of Dragados Offshore.

The total weight is about 4,000 tons. This offshore grid connection will connect the He Dreiht wind farm to the German transmission network.

BorWin5 is the 15th offshore grid connection system implemented by TenneT in the German North Sea.

This week Amprion Offshore commissioned a consortium of Dragados Offshore and Siemens Energy to construct the HVDC converter platforms for an offshore wind development in the German North Sea.

And last month Siemens Energy and Spain's Dragados Offshore were awarded a contract worth more than 4 billion euros ($4.29 billion) to build two converter systems for offshore wind energy grid connections in Germany.

In February 2022, TenneT awarded McDermott a contract for the BorWin6 980-MW HVDC project in the North Sea.

In July 2022, Siemens Energy and Dragados Offshore announced their plans to build the converters for Amprion Offshore's first two offshore grid connection systems, DolWin4 and BorWin4.
