LONDON — Britain’s Crown Estate has signed agreements for lease for six offshore wind projects, which could collectively generate about 8 GW of power.
Three of the six projects are off the coasts of North Wales, Cumbria and Lancashire (both northwest England), while the others are in the North Sea offshore the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coasts.
The agreements represent the culmination of The Crown Estate’s Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4, which follows three previous leasing rounds. The Crown Estate has now issued rights totaling 41 GW.
Developers can now further progress plans for their projects.
