STOCKHOLM, SwedenOX2 has secured exploration permits for two offshore wind farms in the Gulf of Bothnia Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), close to Finland’s western border.

The permits will allow the company to perform seabed investigations, providing information for the proposed project area. The location for project Halla is west of the island of Hailuoto while project Laine is west of Pietarsaari.

According to OX2, the two developments could accommodate 310 turbines, generating 23 TWh of electricity.
