LONDON – Britain’s Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has appointed the Carbon Trust to provide technical support to the Floating Offshore Wind Demonstration Program.
This £17-million ($24-million) scheme, unveiled in March, is designed to support innovation in the floating offshore wind industry by funding development and demonstration of new technologies addressing the challenges associated with mooring/anchoring, dynamic cables and floaters/foundations, as well as various other industry-led projects.
The Carbon Trust, supported by offshore wind technical consultancy OWC, will assist BEIS with the initial assessments of proposals, followed by independent support and monitoring of grant recipients.
