Saipem to install Courseulles-sur-Mer foundations offshore France

Eoliennes Offshore du Calvados SAS has contracted Saipem to design, construct, and install 64 foundations for the Courseulles-sur-Mer wind farm offshore France.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eoliennes Offshore du Calvados SAS (EODC) has contracted Saipem to design, construct, and install 64 foundations for the Courseulles-sur-Mer wind farm offshore France.
The €460-million ($555-million) contract is subject to a notice to proceed, which is contingent upon EODC making a positive final investment decision.
The foundations, which consist of large steel monopiles with transition pieces, will be fabricated in Europe and installed by the crane vessel Saipem 3000.
The Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind farm zone is located about 16 km (10 mi) off the coast of Calvados region, in water depths ranging from 22 to 31 m (72 to 102 ft).
EODC is sponsored by a consortium of EDF Renewables, EIH S.à r.l, a subsidiary of Enbridge, and wpd Offshore France.
