ZWIJNDRECHT, Belgium –Construction has started on CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering’s (CDWE) installation vessel Green Jade at the CSBC shipyard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
This is the first floating DP-3 heavy lift and installation vessel to be built in Taiwan, and she will sail under the Taiwanese flag. Delivery is expected by 4Q 2022.

The 216.5-m (710.3-ft) long vessel is expected to have a 4,000-metric ton (4,409-ton) crane capacity and accommodations for up to 160 people.
The Green Jade will also have dual fuel engines and a Green Passport and Clean Design notation. According to DEME, other environmental innovations include a waste heat recovery system that converts heat from the exhaust gases and cooling water to electrical energy, in addition to various other fuel-saving measures.
CDWE, Taiwan’s first offshore wind EPCI contractor, was established in February 2019 by CSBC, the largest shipbuilder in Taiwan, and DEME Offshore.
