Woodside says that it has started up Shenzi North, a two-well subsea tieback through the existing Shenzi infrastructure in the deepwater US Gulf.

PERTH, Australia – Woodside has started up Shenzi North, a two-well subsea tieback through the existing Shenzi infrastructure in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.
The company and partner Repsol took FID on the project in July 2021 and delivered first oil ahead of the targeted start in in 2024.The project is designed to increase take-up of the Shenzi platform’s production capacity of 100,000 b/d of oil and 50 MMcf/d of gas.
Shenzi, discovered in 2002, 195 km from the coast of Louisiana in the Green Canyon protraction area, came onstream in 2009. The crude oil and natural gas are transported to connecting pipelines for onward sale to Gulf Coast clients.
