STAVANGER, Norway — Equinor has appointed SURF contractor Ocean Installer for the Troll Phase 3 – Stage 2 project in the Norwegian North Sea.
Ocean Installer’s EPCI contract, valued at more than NOK1 billion ($94 million), includes offshore work over a three-year period with the first campaign set to start next year.
In addition, the company has a separate contract to replace a 4-km, 10-inch flexible flowline at the Troll B Field in 2025.
Stage 2 of Troll Phase 3 project involves drilling eight wells from two new templates with subsea controls extended from existing templates. A new 36-inch gas flowline will also be laid and tied back to the Troll A platform, which will undergo some modifications.
Ocean Installer will fabricate and install four large pipeline termination structures for the 36-inch gas flowline, five 20-inch spools, a subsea pig launcher and receiver, 6 km of 4.5-inch MEG line and protection covers.
It will also install the subsea production system and umbilicals supplied by OneSubsea and perform trenching and pre-commissioning.
Engineering work has started at Ocean Installer’s offices in Stavanger and Oslo. Much of the fabrication will be handled by Norwegian subcontractors.
