LONDON — Shell has given Deltic Energy until June 12 to continue discussions with potential counterparties concerning license P2252 and the 2023 Pensacola gas discovery in the UK southern North Sea.

Delic warned that it may not be able to conclude talks successfully within this timeframe and would therefore be required to withdraw from the license, transferring its interest in Pensacola to its joint venture partners.

An appraisal well is due to be drilled on Pensacola later this year.
