Archer has awarded Elemental Energies a £10 million ($12.7 million) contract to support a well plug and abandonment (P&A) project in the UK North Sea.

WESTHILL, UK – Archer has awarded Elemental Energies a £10 million ($12.7 million) contract to support a well plug and abandonment (P&A) project in the UK North Sea.

Elemental will provide abandonment engineering and operational support across multiple platform wells over the next three years, with a multidisciplinary team of onshore and offshore engineers from the two companies managing detailed abandonment planning and supporting operations.

Work has started on Phase 1, wireline investigative work, to be followed by a coiled tubing campaign. P&A operations are due to start in the second half of 2024 or early 2025 on completion of platform preparation scopes.

Elemental has recently acquired Vysus Senergy Wells and Norwell Engineering, and it plans further acquisitions.
