KASSEL, Germany —Wintershall Dea announced drilling has been completed on the Nova Field in the Norwegian North Sea.
The company stated, "Six wells, more than 15 km drilled, a major milestone and a huge achievement for the whole team! Well done to the rig crew on the Saipem Scarabeo 8 and team Wintershall Dea for delivering ahead of first oil."
The oil and gas reservoir was called Skarfjell when it was discovered in 2012, and it was later given the name Nova. The reservoir is connected to the nearby Gjøa Field via a subsea tieback, which the company said saves resources and money.
