FORNEBU, Norway – Aker Solutions will conduct an internal investigation following an incident at its fabrication yard in Stord, western Norway, last Friday.
Just before midday, gas ignited in a culvert inside the yard complex. This caused ‘moderate’ injuries, the company reported, with 12 personnel undergoing checks at its health center, and one sent to the local hospital.
Aker Solutions notified the public emergency services and the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority, and the police have also been at the site.
