NEW YORK — New Fortress Energy Inc. (NFE) reports that it will be producing its first LNG at its facility offshore Altamira, Mexico, in the coming days, with the first cargo shipment expected in July.
NFE reported that as of June 14, the work necessary to begin operations is complete, and the company has also completed the full remainder of pre-commissioning activities. The company says that it now expects to produce LNG within the next 10 days.
NFE’s previously reported plans for its Fast LNG (FLNG) hub off Altamira called for multiple 1.4-MMt/year FLNG units drawing on CFE’s existing pipeline transportation capacity on TC Energy’s Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline for the feed gas.
