Operator Perenco Brazil now plans to submit final documents to the country’s regulatory authorities to obtain an operations license for the FSO.
The program included connection of nine mooring lines and the new production pipeline from the Pargo platform, all to the new turret that was integrated in Dubai as part of the conversion to Brazilian regulatory standards. At the end of last year, the mooring system was installed.
The double-hulled vessel, built in 2004, has a storage capacity of 750,000 bbl.
Perenco has a 100% interest in the Pargo cluster concession, which comprises the shallow-water Pargo, Carapeba and Vermelho fields off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Currently the concession area hosts eight fixed platforms in up to 100 m water depth. Earlier this year, production reached 13,000 bbl/d of oil, up from 2,800 bbl/d when Perenco became operator in October 2019.
The company secured approval from the authorities in early 2021 for its $400-million Pargo cluster development plan and an extension to its rights on the concession until 2040.
