RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras has informed Brazil’s National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) of its interest in securing pre-emptive rights in three offshore areas in the Campos basin.

The blocks, covering the Água Marinha and Norte de Brava areas, are set to be issued for bids in the country’s Permanent Offer System, under a Production Sharing Agreement, pursuant to Law 12,351/2010 and Federal Decree 9,041/2017.

Petrobras would seek to secure a 30% share, considering the parameters disclosed in CNPE Resolution No. 26, published early last month.

The expression of interest is in line with the company’s strategic focus on deep and ultra-deepwater assets.
