RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has transferred its 10% interest in the Lapa field to TotalEnergies.
The operation, which also involved the assignment of the totality of the interest held by Petrobras Netherlands B.V. in Lapa Oil & Gas B.V., concluded with the payment of $49.4 million to Petrobras.
This transaction represents another step in the strategic partnership between the two companies and is aligned with the portfolio optimization and capital allocation improvement strategy, Petrobras said.
The Lapa field is in block BM-S-9A in the presalt Santos basin. Production began in December 2016 via the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba. In the first half of 2021, its production averaged 50,700 boe/d.
With the closing of the transaction, operator TotalEnergies holds 45% interest in the Lapa field. The other partners are Shell Brasil Petróleo (30%) and Repsol Sinopec Brasil (25%).
