    OSLO, Norway — Petrobangla has launched Bangladesh’s first offshore lease round since 2012.

    The 2024 Bangladesh Offshore Bid Round comprises 15 deepwater and nine shallow-water blocks.

    TGS, in partnership with the state-owned company and SLB, acquired a 12,636-line-km 2D survey covering all the blocks on offer. Final PSTM-processed products are now available, with final PSDM products to be issued in May.

    David Hajovsky, executive vice president of Multi-Client at TGS, said, "The Bengal Fan is one of the world's largest deepwater fans with significant evidence of working petroleum systems. It is widely considered one of the most extensively underexplored frontier regions.”
