MILAN, Italy –Eni has signed an agreement with KrisEnergy and Neon Energy regarding two offshore Vietnam exploration blocks in the Gulf of Tonkin.
The agreement involves blocks 105-110/04 and 120, and two basins, the Song Hong and Phu Khanh, which are mainly gas-containing based on recent drilling. Near term plans call for 3D seismic and two exploration wells.
If approved by the Vietnamese authorities, Eni would have 50% and be operator with KrisEnergy and Neon each holding 25%. The two blocks cover 15,600 sq km (6,023 sq mi).
