Equinor’s production averaged 2,048 MMboe/d during the second quarter, the company said in a results update, up from 1,994 MMboe/d in the same quarter last year.

Equinor’s production averaged 2,048 MMboe/d during the second quarter, the company said in a results update, up from 1,994 MMboe/d in the same quarter last year.

Offshore Norway, new production from the Breidablikk Field in the North Sea contributed to an overall production growth of 5% compared to second-quarter 2023. High output from the Troll and Oseberg fields helped lift gas production by 13% compared to the same period last year.

In the UK North Sea, the non-operated Buzzard Field and other new wells also hiked the company’s production, but those gains were more than offset by lower output from its interests in the US, due in part to turnaround programs offshore.

Equinor completed seven unsuccessful exploration wells offshore during second-quarter 2024, including on the Argerich prospect, its first well offshore Argentina. Operations continued on seven further wells at quarter end.
